From his college days as a line cook for TGI Fridays, to his most recent post as Chief Operating Officer of Marvelous Market in Washington, DC, Neil has garnered a wealth of experience managing nearly all aspects of both restaurant and food retail operations.
As Director of Food Service for Central Market, HEB’s gourmet grocery concept in Austin, Texas, Neil managed the design, creation, facilitation, and operation of a $6 million dollar store remodel. He went on to serve as Senior Vice President of Operations for Balducci’s, a multi-unit specialty market with $135 million in annual revenues. There he successfully reduced store labor by 5% through creating and implementing an innovative new total-store labor system. Neil’s next step rounded out his repertoire to include developing franchise operations as Chief Operating Officer for Marvelous Market. He built and systematized their franchise model to grow from five locations to 100 by the year 2010.
Neil's specialty is the turnaround. He has a unique talent for thoroughly assessing a concept's needs, and then developing and implementing a plan to achieve measurable results. One of the things that makes Neil so effective is his emphasis on communication. He knows that fostering positive work relationships drives results and impacts all levels of business.
